Pixel Field? Not sure what to call it so don’t know what to google

I have seen at other people’s shows these “fields” of pixels in their yards. Basically it’s a bunch of sticks in the ground that each have a few pixels (4-5?) in them, and then there are like 30-40 of these sticks all stuck in the ground in like a grid formation.

Each stick generally shows the same pattern so all of the sticks would be lit the same, or sometimes there is like a shimmer effect that goes across the whole field. 
 

I think this looks really cool and I’d like to try to set something like this up but I have a million questions about how to do it but mostly what is it called so I can see if my questions have already been answered elsewhere.

Named after David Peace - who invented them (actually it was his wife who came up with the idea).

Also called Pixel Stakes or Peace Pixel Stakes.
