Unit id when sequencing

So I understand when installing pixie 16 units and giving them “addresses” . My question is I have two pixie 16 units set up and I think the software language gets confusing . When making sequences it asks for unit id but it really means the “Chanel/number” on pixie 16 controller .since when plugging in and using hardware i set first pixie to 01…. The second one to 02 

if one controller is set at 01

when i make my props i make the unit id in preview go in order 

01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f,0g

 

the second pixie is set to 02 

so in my preview for props off second pixie I have the unit id as follows 

21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,2a,2b,2c,2d,2e,2f,2g 

 

is this correct lol I ask because my show runs a prop on channel 21 just fine but the identical prop on 22 partially works if I plug it into 21 it works fine so it’s like the ports on pixie aren’t sending right into or something ?

0-F, are all that are allowed

No G  so carry the 1

In addition there are addresses you can't assign.  00 is one

01-10, 11-22

(I find it easier to use 10-1F, 20,2F  YMMV)

Ok so even though it’s 16 on the pixie it is 10 and slot ten on the pixie is 0a… lol 

and changing the unit id from 01 to 10 I get so I can change the first one from 01 to 10 and then the second from 02 to 20 

any idea why a prop would only like kick on 40 of the nodes when the identical prop works fine next to it and has same effect saved to it ? I know it’s not the prop itself cause if I swap ports with the working one it then works …

If this is correct and you set the physical pixie 16s to unit Ids to 01 and 02,  your pixies  are set this way

Pixie 01 is set to 01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f

Pixie 02 is set to 02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f,0g,10

As you can see there are 14 Port between both Pixies that share the same addresses. That will create a lot of conflict because you probably have props that share the same address or are not even working because you assigned them an address is not in the network. If you want the 2 Pixies to be sequential then change the ID on the second Pixie to 10

Then it will have 2 Pixe16 set this way this way.

Pixie 2 set to Unit ID01 is 01,02,03,04,05,06,07,08,09,0a,0b,0c,0d,0e,0f

Pixie 2 set to Unit ID10 is 10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,1a,1b,1c,1d,1e,1f.

Just change you Pixie  assigned unit ID 02 to Unit 2001

If the string only lights up 40 on any port and a different string works fine on the same ports then there probably is a bad pixel in the string that only 40 light up on.

After reading this again you may have the prop addressed incorrectly. Which pixels light up the first 40 or the last 40 in the pixel string. check the prop preview and make sure it starts on circuit 1.

The less confusing way to set the Unit ID's for Pixie Controllers is by 10 - then the Prefix Number (1*) (2*) is consistent with the Controller...

This also allows the First 15 Unit ID's to be reserved for AC Controllers or Dumb Pixel Controllers...

The Unit IDs count in Hexadecimal (base 16) - not Decimal (base 10).
