Sign for radio station

My wife bought me the radio transmitter and I was wondering what is being used out there for a sign. We live on a dark road not a neighborhood so maybe something electronic? Just trying to get some ideas… Thanks

I've seen a bit of everything. Some have fancy matrix screens. Some buy LED boards of Amazon. My first sign was a piece of coro(plast) with stick on letters and numbers that we inserted into a metal sign holder (all from Home Depot) and lit with a solar powered light (didn't have a free channel).

At some point we bought the sign kit from HolidayCoro with the AC lights in it and have been very happy with it.

I have used a piece of plywood that I painted a dark color and then used painters tape to spell out the letters and numbers, then painted the sign white, and lastly pulled off the painters tape.  Later I built a light box with the letters and numbers made with stick on letters and numbers.  Currently I have a P10 matrix that is sequenced as part of the show with the artist, song title, and tune information.  I will post photos later when I get home.

I have used a piece of white coro board with big black letters with a green light shining on it. This year I tried one usinn mini lights and it was so bright, i had to go back to the standar.  You don't want the sign to upstage your lights.

Here are some photos.  For each one, if your browser does not imbed the image, I included a direct link to it after the photo.

This first one is the plywood sign.  The photo was not taken to show the sign, but it's the only photo I have of the original sign.  There were two of them facing different directions.

And these two photos are the light box - first in daylight and then in cyan at night.  It was RGB so I could make it any color I wanted.

And lastly is the current P-10 matrix as hung under the eves in daylight and showing both the P5 and P10 matrix lit up as they would be during a show (however the photo is showing them in their storage location in my family room).

I just use your typical 2 sided yard sign and put a spot light on it. Each year I get it printed by Fastsigns, fairly cheap. I highlight a non profit each year so it's new and fresh looking each year

My wife cut out the letters for this sign from adhesive backed paper using her Cricut. We place them on a piece coro and covered with clear contact paper to waterproof it and put  a spotlight on it. This pic from the first year I made it. Still using it but have had to change the station a couple of times. I just added new numbers on white paper and placed over the original ones.  Still using 4 years later.

Good job on the sign! My wife has a Cricut too, maybe I should have her do it :)

Painted 20" high white letters on red background on plywood.  Then stapled clear minis (white wire) onto letters.  Can be seen for blocks.

x2

I have been using the HolidayCoro sign with LED AC Lights for past 3 years.  I use an empty AC Channel and have running as a static background sequence with dimming curve set @ 50% power so it doesn't "out-shine" the show.  Have "TUNE TO" in GREEN mini LED's and "88.1" in RED mini LED's.

Great idea. Never thought of it. Adding a linear curve and will try it out. My lights did look bright.
