stevehoyt Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I have been trouble shooting, and testing running an enhanced network at different speeds. I have a 2 questions. Each time I change the speed in the control panel, do I need to go into the device manager and set the comm port speed to match? Would it work to just set the comm port speed to the max 921600 and leave it no matter the control panel setting Thanks
Don Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I've never, ever, changed the COM port speed in Windows. I'm not sure if it's something that needs to be done, but I've never noticed an issue leaving it as is.
PhilMassey Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Like Don, I've never done it or heard it mentioned.
k6ccc Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 Never touched it - for anything (not just LOR).
Jimehc Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I would be interested in the Results of your "Testing"
TheDucks Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I suspect that is the default for when an app does not set it. I only set the COM# for each adapter (windows remembers the B is always COM12 from then on)
Orville Posted December 5, 2023 Posted December 5, 2023 I've never heard of, or even seen(read) any reason to mess with the Com port speeds. I've never messed with the default settings, seen no reason to do so.
