Mr TM
Hello all, newbie here. was curious if numbers and letters can be made in the mini tree bases? Thanks in advance. TM
k6ccc
You're going to have to explain what you mean. Not enough detail in what you want to do.
Mr TM
Spell out what radio station to tune too. Like Tune to 88.7, with an animation sequence starting before the show.
PhilMassey
You really need a sign that is always visible for guests who arrive throughout the evening. Using all those mini trees and a lot of pixels for a static sign is a bit of a waste IMO. I just use printed yard sign and floodlights. https://www.dropbox.com/s/itycwlg9yhr5t2m/P1020316.JPG?dl=
dibblejr
You can do it with pixels or if traditional lights. It still depends on what you have for the structure
k6ccc
You absolutely need the Tune to information continuously - certainly not just before the show starts. Over the years, I have used several Tune To signs. The first couple years I just had two wooden signs that I quite literally made on opening day of year 1. I took some scrap plywood and spray painted it a dark color. After that dried, I formed the letters with blue painters tape and spray painted with white. After that dried, peeled off the painters tape. Attached two stakes with drywall screws and hammered into the ground. Stuck a little 12V spotlight in front of each sign (there were two). Quick and dirty, but worked pretty well. Sorry, the photo below was showing something else, but it was the only photo I could find that had the sign... http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/2014_6_arches.jpg Next I built a light box with translucent plastic on the front and had stick on letters. Each box had RGB dumb strip inside so I could light it any color that I wanted. The light boxes were part of each sequence, but NORMALLY stayed the same color for any given song. Inside showing the strips: http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/Tune_To_3.jpg And completed in daylight: http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/Tune_To_in_daylight.jpg And lit in cyan at night: http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/TuneTo_cyan.jpg I liked those light boxes, but they ended up with quite a bit of water damage to the wood in heavy rain, and one blew over and damaged the plastic front. So I ended switching to a P10 matrix and a P5 matrix. Here are both of them hanging in my family room displaying what is shown about 2/3 of the time. http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/Matrix_panels_hanging_close-up.jpg There is a rather long history on this part, but I do not have an enclosure for the matrix panels, so I managed to hang the P10 far enough back from my eves to weather protect it, but the P5 panel has never been used. Dammit, I AM GOING TO GET BOTH PANELS OUT FOR 2023!!!! http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/P10_2018_mounting-1.jpg
