Anyway to Pause Background Animation While a Sequence is playing?

My current set up is a small standing display, with an input pup set up for on demand shows (Jukebox style) 
However Because the Background animation is using the same channels it will be controlling them while the current song is playing. 

Is there a Way to have the background pause until the Jukebox is finished doing what it's doing. Or a different setting that achieve a similar result?

No.

But there is a workaround that could be used - better if there are only a small number of channels involved.  The workaround is to have each lighting channel controlled by two different channels with a relay controlled by another channel determining which controller channel is connected to the light.  So here's how this would work.  Let's say that there are two channels used for the background sequence - Unit ID 01, channels 01 & 02.  Those two controller outputs are connected to the Normally closed contacts of a relay.  For the Jukebox sequence, those lights are to be controlled by Unit ID 01, channels 03 & 04.  Those two channels are connected to the Normally Open contacts of the relay.  The common contacts of the relay connects to the lights.  A separate channel, for example Unit ID 01 channel 05 is connected to the coil of the relay.  You would have several previews.  Your background preview would only have Unit IDs 01, channels 01 & 02.  Next would be a Jukebox preview that would only have Unit 01, channels 03, 04, & 05.  Your background sequence would happily be playing controlling Unit ID 01, channels 01 & 02.  Normally the relay would be de-energized so the lights would be following whatever commands that the background sequence has.  When the Jukebox interactive sequence starts, it turns on Unit ID 01, channel 05 which energizes the relay and disconnects the lights from Unit ID 01, channels 01 & 02; and connects those two lights to Unit ID 01, channels 03 & 04.  Now the two lights are controlled by Unit ID 01, channels 03 & 04 by the Jukebox sequence.  At the end of the Jukebox sequence, Unit ID 01, channel 05 is turned off which de-energizes the relay returning control of the two lights to the Background sequence.

Make sense, or do I( need to schematic this for you?

Ya that makes sense thanks you very much for the detailed explanation. 

Unfortunately I don't think I have the extra channel capacity to accomplish this.
