leightonsxmas
hey guys n girls i have been challenged and need help i currently have a 5 meter tall 16 strand mega tree built myself in my show i have now been challenged by a local resident also does musical lights to build an even bigger and taller tree next year im thinking around 10 meter (32foot) tall and 3meters around the bottom (9foot) as his is 7 meters tall powered by xlights how many strands do you think i would need (12v/5v) and controllers and power banks
Mr. P
The taller you go the more strands you need to make it look full. My mega is 22 feet and I have 48 strands so at 32 feet I would recommend a minimum of 64 strands. Is this a pixel tree or a standard led tree? TheDucks
5M ribbons? They will need a lot of per strand support or you will have broken/fractured traces strands. @12. V 100 nodes (2 5M sections is doable (power injection suggested) 16 strands = 16 ports BUT you might be pushing the 12V Bus/port Amp limit I agree with Jim. 3M RADIUS is still a skinny tree. k6ccc
For a width comparison, the outer strings on my tree exactly line up with the descending edges of the star on top. That makes the tree almost as wide as it is tall. This photo is old - from when my tree was 12 strings - but the concept is still the same. In this version, it was 10 foot 2.5 inches from the center of the top pixel to the center of the bottom pixel (2.5 inch spacing), and the width at the bottom pixels was a little over nine feet. http://www.newburghlights.org/photos/2014_Pixel_Tree.jpg

weigh2fast4u@yahoo.com
https://www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-Extreme-Strip-for-Pixel-Nodes-p/763.htm go all the way to the bottom. There is a chart here that will show you. It is pretty much perfect for mine.
