First Megatree RGB Pixel - Design Questions

Hi all - new to the forum but have known of LOR for some time. I have always gone your traditional route with Christmas decorations. I want to step up to adding a RGB pixel tree with some custom sequences but have several questions that I am having a hard time finding clear answers to. Hoping you all may be able to help guide me.

For the tree, I went with the Boscoyo 16/32 mega tree kit and am going to set up as 180 degree with 16 50 bullet pixel strands. For the setup, I was going to purchase the pixie16 Controller fully assembled. I am trying to figure out a star to use and the company I want to buy an animated sequence from indicated it is a dumb RGB one in their sequence. Which brings me to the last point, I want to use some of these animated sequences and was wondering if anyone else has used them? I emailed them and they said I open them in Xlights and save to SD card and it could run off the director.

Would appreciate any guidance/thoughts/help on if I am going down the right direction with the parts below and if it works (or if a better way). Thanks for your help.
