taybrynn Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 That is correct. Usually you connect to the soundcard 'line out' or the headphone jack (on a laptop). Is should be line-level input ... and adjust the level to avoid distortion. If you transmitted sound is distored, turn the level down. I find most folks are best off between 1/2 and 3/4 volume on the windows side.EDM warns of the possibility of needing attenuation but I don't see that as a problem very often. You can also buy a headphone volume control, which is an inline attenuator, if you want that control and just connect that in front of the adaptor cable.The EDM has a built in limiter and compressor that does protect you in large part and also prevents the pilot from getting hosed due to too much input signal.
