P5 panel video not playing smoothly

So when playing video on a sequence on my P5 panel I'm getting some artifacts from the previous second or two that doesn't move like it should. I.E. I get some lines that stay for a moment before catching back up. Is there a way to fix this? It does it even after first play through, although doesn't seem as bad. Does this have more to do with the computer than the software? Also, I used WMVs for this, should I use .avi's instead and the images appear to be backwards -- how to fix that.
