No, as long as no lights are plugged into the other 8 outputs you should be fine. The Sequencer tells the controller what to turn on and off.

What controller is it?

Does your Kitchen Light go out  because you are not using the Razor in the Bathroom?   NOPE!

Hi Robert.

Welcome to the hobby!

you do not need to disable the outputs you are not using, but I would suggest putting outlet protector plugs (usually sold in the baby aisle at Wal-Mart, Meijers and the Dollar stores) into the unused outlets just to help keep dirt and junk from getting inside. Some of us dielectric grease to protect the openings as well.

Good luck and have a great Christmas season!

I second the baby protectors. I bought a number of giant (32) packs. I also cap ANY unused outlet on strings (End and Stacking). Cuts down on dirt and GFCI trips
