Preview does not Show Lights with Custom Light Placement During Playback

I'm converting to S5 this year.

I used the "Custom" shape for a single-channel prop in Preview, with a custom color.

When I play the sequence in the sequencer, the lights do not show at all.

Attached images include the song paused with "Santa" clearly showing as 100% on in the grid view, but not visible in the Preview.  The other 2 screenshots are from the Preview Design dialog that clearly shows the lights defined with a Custom shape.

What am I doing wrong?

You're doing better than me.  I could not get a simple custom shape to show up at all - even in Preview Editor.

The trick (which took me several tries) is to type the digit "1" in the cells where you want the bulbs. (If you are doing a multi-channel prop, you use other digits for the other channels.)

All od my custom props work and I have about 75% of my show. LOL

Heres your problem

Before entering your lights in the grid Set the channels and unit

LOR

Max circuit has to be set to something.

If using a single color select 1

You also do not have a color selected in the left

even though I have no ac controllers this year I was able to create it just now

I made a simple cross shape

Sorry I forgot to add the numbering but my friend above got it for you.

Remwber the color is for the channel button, you must use the tools to add the color but it won’t affect your lights. They are what ever color you have plugged in.

Ah, yes.  I did have a custom prop in 2018 (first year with S5), but changed it in 2019, so have not touched that in a couple years...

I set the channel. It is the same channel as from the grid view.

I selected a custom color, but I just changed it to Warm White, with the same problem.

I can create it, it just doesn't show up when I play the sequence.

OK, I tried it with a single channel, and it worked fine in 5.5.14.  Yes, the custom shape is the letters TE.  If my image does not show, try the link below.  Some browsers (Chrome) have an issue with my images being on a http and not https website.

I just tried with a new channel. It works!

Now I have to figure out what is different between the new channel and the existing non-working channel.

I may have figured it out. In the steps of my testing, it seemed to work correctly until I resized it (smaller) in the preview.

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this. I also found that if I simply make a copy of the channel where this happens, then copy-paste the grid view events, it works.

So I'm going to just not worry about it.
