sodajosh
Hello all. This is my first post so I figured I'd make it the most rookie question one could ask! I received my Easy Light Linkers (ELL) from Light-o-rama. Setup seems pretty easy, but I notice they have 2 RJ45 connectors inside. My rookie question is why? I am assuming that the Cat5 goes into one of those, down into the controller, which is receiving a Cat5 from the Showtime Director. Then another ELL is connected to another controller with 1 Cat5 and receives that signal. Am I missing something? Is one of those RJ45 connectors a backup? Thanks in advance for your help! Josh (starting off with 4 very far apart controllers and 4 ELLs)
Orville
It can be used as a spare, or it can be used to go to a different controller, each jack could have it's own controller on it or it could be linked to a 2nd ELL if needed, then to another controller. It's there mainly for daisy chaining units together. If it's not in use, not a big deal.
