Can someone tell me if the Showtime controller with the mp3 reader also be play via computer. There's a really good deal on a used one and thinking of purchasing.

Yes, it can. You will need a LOR RS 485 to USB adaptor to make the connection if you don't already have one. Get the newer red one. Sooner or later you will want the extra speed over the original adaptor.
