bbrescia
On Halloween, I was very surprised that my show did not play the last 5 sequences in its list of 21 total sequences. It went back to musical sequence 1 after reaching sequence 16. I have checked all the files and they are not corrupt. I tried a test show with just one sequence (Thriller) and in show mode, it just wouldn't play - on any PC. The song plays fine inside S5 sequencer. The media file I am using is an MP4, 456,196 KB, 7:34 duration. It plays under any video player so I know it's not corrupt. When I save this video from Adobe Premiere Pro CC as an MP3 (audio only) and created the playback files, it played ok as a one-sequence show. I have resaved the loredit files for the sequences that won't play in Show, as well as re-created the playback files and compressed them. Can you think of what the problem might be? MediaInfo reports this, typical for all of my files: General Complete name : C:\Holidays\Sequences\Halloween\2018\Sequences\2018 BH 18 Wicked Old Witch.mp4 Format : MPEG-4 Format profile : Base Media Codec ID : isom (isom/iso2/avc1/mp41) File size : 204 MiB Duration : 3 min Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 8 282 kb/s Writing application : Lavf56.30.100 Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4 Format settings, CABAC : No Format settings, ReFrames : 1 frame Format settings, GOP : M=1, N=12 Codec ID : avc1 Codec ID/Info : Advanced Video Coding Duration : 3 min Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 8 125 kb/s Maximum bit rate : 16.0 Mb/s Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Constant Frame rate : 29.970 (30000/1001) FPS Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.131 Stream size : 200 MiB (98%) Audio ID : 2 Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format profile : LC Codec ID : 40 Duration : 3 min Duration_LastFrame : -20 ms Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 152 kb/s Maximum bit rate : 192 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 44.1 kHz Frame rate : 43.066 FPS (1024 spf) Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 3.74 MiB (2%) Language : English Default : Yes Alternate group : 1 Edited November 3, 2018 by bbrescia
k6ccc
What is the LOR Status display showing? It will tell you why a sequence gets skipped.
bbrescia
Hi Jim - thanks for helping me to solve this. I used Verifier to find the problems. Apparently, for these sequences, it could not find the media files and generated an error to that effect. I'm not sure how that came to be but restored the linkages. I develop on 2 different machines, then play on a laptop. I think that even though I am careful to use the same directories on each machine that somehow these links were messed up. Learning: always use Verifier before you are doing your final version of your show! Thanks again! Bob
