namecipS Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 Where do you get your strips for your pixel trees? I see HolidayCoro and Boscoyo have them. They are close in price, but are they similar in durability? Are there any other places? I thought I saw a website that was selling them in rolls, any idea who that might be? https://www.boscoyostudio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_6&products_id=2 http://www.holidaycoro.com/PixNode-Pixel-Mounting-Strips-p/767.htm

Ah, that does change the meaning some! For my existing pixel tree, I am using 3/4 inch PVC that I split on a table saw and then drilled holes for the pixels. Quite a few photos at: http://www.newburghlights.org/pixel_tree.html This year I am rebuilding that tree and going to 100 pixels at a closer spacing. I am going with a custom spacing version of the Boscoyo strips.
GriswoldStyle Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 (edited) I bought a 20 pack through environmental led for $27 They come in 8 foot sections of black strip for nodes. The shipping is under $5 there for 2 of the 20 packs... Way less shipping than everyone else. $4.95 shipping. Just a thought https://www.environmentalled.com/Pixel-Mounting-Strips---20-pack-p2470.html Edited June 11, 2018 by GriswoldStyle 1

caniac Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I use the Boscoyo strips, going on my third season with them. Nothing against HC but the Boscoyo stuff is a beefier material. Have had to deal with the high winds of the midwest and it held up.
TheDucks Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I just made mine out of plastic Plumbers tape using a piece of 2x4 with a few headless (cut them off) finishing nails and a 12mm Step reamer in the cordless. The pins hold the tape centered on the clearance holes in the 2x4. (I do sets of 4 at a time, every 4th hole, which matched the max distance on my HC bullet nodes )
uncledan Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Boscoyo is the way to go. The quality of the product is second to none. I just got two of the 1,000 ft rolls of the HD strip from them for a mega tree build. https://www.boscoyostudio.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_6&products_id=154
Vince4xmas Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 Got my strips from HC 2 years ago and no issues. I have also ordered props from Boscoyo. They are also excellent.

namecipS Posted June 15, 2018 Author Posted June 15, 2018 Thanks everyone. I purchased the Boscoyo strips. Looking forward to setting up the tree.
