Wayne K
I was in Lowes tonight and noticed on several wire frame things, that there appears to be a new style rope light. This appeared to be about 5/8" wide and 5/16" thick with light showing out both sides but not the side that was fastened or the opposite side from the side fastened down. I took some pictures, but gave up on getting them on here. I kept resizing smaller and could not get it to paste on here. So here are a couple of links to what I was looking at, it is pretty hard to tell what the led looks like. If you go to the first one below and click on the video to the left side of the picture, you can kind of see what it looks like: https://www.lowes.com/pd/GE-3-ft-Freestanding-Tree-with-Constant-Green-LED-Lights/1000272449 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Disney-Mickey-Friends-1-44-ft-Freestanding-Mickey-Mouse-Sculpture-with-Constant-White-LED-Lights/1000296431 https://www.lowes.com/pd/Disney-Mickey-Friends-1-44-ft-Freestanding-Minnie-Mouse-Sculpture-with-Constant-White-LED-Lights/1000296433 Edited October 3, 2017 by Wayne K
k6ccc
From the pictures, I would guess that it's Electroluminescent wire (commonly called EL wire)
Mr. P
Jim is correct, it is EL wire it has a neon look. I was thinking of using this for my faces about two years ago but I could only find it powered with battery packs. The lights are great if you want to decorate wearable things like coats and hats. DougP
I was going to use EL Wire on some wireframes but found out that it will now do fades. It's either on or off only.
