Importing / Export

If you are using tracks, it appears that there is no way to either export just a track configuration, nor can you import channels into any track other than 1.

Is this correct? If so, it would a good option to allow export/import at the track level

I think you are correct and I agree. Being able to export a track would make it so much easier to add new elements to existing sequences.

Not exactly.

It's correct that there's no way to export a single track (except by exporting a sequence with a single track).

But you can import channels into other tracks by importing from a channel config file that was exported from a sequence with more than one track.

However, please note: It is potentially dangerous to export from, or import into, multitracked sequences, depending on how they are set up. Unless you understand exactly what could go wrong and why it would, you probably shouldn't try it.

For more information on this issue, and a suggestion of what to do instead, please see the following in the help file:

"The Light-O-Rama Software Package" / "Sequence Editor" / "Menu Bar" / "The Edit Menu"

Then within that help page:

"Export and Import Channel Configuration" / "Important Note"

Here's a workaround:

  1. Save your sequence.
  2. Delete all the tracks except the one you want to export.
  3. Export the channel configuration.
  4. Close the sequence without saving.

To import a configuration to a particular track:

  1. Move track up until it's track 1.
  2. Import the channel configuration.
  3. Move the track down to where it was before.

Note: This can still have problems if the some of imported channels are the same as channels in existing tracks.
