Bob Eastman
I'am designing a new system for this year and would like to have the Fm transmitter about 35 feet from the LOR1602MP3. Will that distance create a problem with the signal? What would the best cable be to use?
BobinFL
Bob Two issues come to mind with that long of a cable run: hum and pickup interference. Because you fm xmtr and mp3 box may be on different 120 v circuits, there is a possibility of a slight difference in ground potential between the two and this can cause hum. Pickup is very much dictated by what is running next to your signal cable. I think the best thing to do is set it up and try. If there are problems you can trying moving things around and see if that helps. I would use a good quality shielded pair cable between the two devices.HTH.Bob
-klb-
I'll also add that I used to be shocked to find that a particular consumer audio cable was not shielded. Now days, I'm shocked when I find an actual shielded consumer audio cable... - Kevin
