Ed Slonka Jr
I built my first controller today with no problems. I installed the USB 485B drivers and tested the controller and everything was OK. When I installed the USB drivers I followed the instructions and installed the serial too even though I am using the USB. Now when I tried to use the software I got an error message "8002 Open of serial port failed". When I uncheck "control lights" then I do not get the error message. I have 2 questions:1) Did I need to install the serial drivers since I am using the USB?2) Can I remove the serial adapter and drivers and not affect the USB drivers and adapter?Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Ed
michael.farney
Have you assigned the correct port in the software? Edit --> Preferences --> Network Preferences.
Guest wbottomley
Ed... that's a typical error when no adapter is connected.And.... their's nothing wrong with it, all it's saying, I can't control the lights.
