Upgrade Version 2.0.14 of the S2 Software Suite has been released and can be downloaded here:

This is only a upgrade you must have a valid version of LOR I or LOR II software installed on your PC to install the software. Also make sure that you have completed the install of the LOR software by running the LOR Control panel at least once after you install your production copy of the software.

FYI: This upgrade does not contain licensing code so it expires in June 2008. Prior to June we will distribute a licensed version and keys for all existing users. There will be no license fee for existing users!

This release has several new features and bug fixes. Please see the help files for details, but here's a brief overview of the changes in this version:

  • New play ranges: "From Selection" plays from the start of the selection to the end of the sequence; "To Selection" plays from the start of the sequence to the end of the selection.
  • Freeform play mode: You can now select an arbitrary time range to play. This can be done during play via the keyboard ("down" to mark the start of the range, "up" to mark the end), or before play via the mouse (click and drag on the time scale).
  • Space bar to play: Hitting the space bar will now start play. If a freeform play range has been defined, that range will be played; otherwise, play will be done as if it were in "From Selection" mode. Hitting space during play will stop play, and update the selection to the current time (so hitting space a bunch of times is sort of like "play/pause/continue/pause/continue/etc.").
  • Enter to apply the current tool: In previous versions of the Sequence Editor, the space bar could be used to apply the current tool (such as "Shimmer" or "Toggle") to the current selection. That can now be done via the "Enter" key instead of the space bar.
  • Subdividing cells: The Sequence Editor can now subdivide each selected cell into a new number of cells, with each new cell within any particular old cell being the same size. For example, if you select three cells, 0-2, 2-3, and 3-7, and subdivide into 2, you will wind up with 6 cells: 0-1, 1-2, 2-2.5, 2.5-3, 3-5, and 5-7.
  • Skewing tracks: The Sequence Editor can now slide all of a track's events, timings, and loops by a specified amount of time, either to the left (i.e. earlier in time) or to the right (i.e. later in time).
  • Waveform height: A musical sequence's waveform can optionally be displayed at half the height it previously had been.
  • Waveform display modes: You can now select among three different types of graphs for the waveform to display: "Full Mode" is equivalent to what was displayed in earlier versions of LOR; "Fold Mode" is like folding the top and bottom halves of "Full Mode" on top of each other, and then stretching to the full displayed height; "Top Mode" shows only the top half of "Full Mode", and stretches it to the full height.
  • Waveform colors: The colors used to display the waveform are now configurable.
  • Channel Property Grid/Channel Settings Dialog display bug fix: If a channel was set up as having device type "LOR Controller", but didn't have a unit and/or circuit number set, the Channel Property Grid and Channel Settings Dialog would mistakenly show some incorrect unit/circuit for them.
  • Channel Property Grid printing bug fix: Unit numbers of some LOR controllers, and device types of some non-LOR controllers, weren't printed correctly.
  • Revert to Saved bug fix: After "Revert to Saved", the Sequence Editor wouldn't play the sequence until it was closed and reopened.
  • Enter key bug fix: Several dialogs had a problem where, if you closed them using the "Enter" key rather than by clicking the "OK" button, your change to the last field you edited might not be picked up.

  • Animator shimmer bug fix: If a channel was in two or more tracks, any "shimmer" effect in that channel might not have been displayed properly in the Animator.
  • Animator play button bug fix: If a sequence was playing, and some non-playing sequence's Animator window was open, and the Play button of the non-playing sequence's Animator was clicked, all sorts of weird things would start happening. Now, instead, the Animator's play button simply does nothing if any sequence is currently playing.

  • Loop undo/redo bug fix: In sequences containing loops, undo and redo didn't work correctly in certain situations.
  • Highlight Current Event bug fix: "Highlight Current Event" on the Play menu is supposed to control whether or not the current event is displayed with a thick black border (as if it were the selection) during play. It did so, but it also mistakenly controlled whether the selection was displayed or not while play was not happening.
  • Musical sequence "file not found" bug fix: If a musical sequence's media file did not have its "Ready for Archiving" flag turned on (in the file's properties in Windows Explorer), the Sequence Editor would not play the sequence, complaining that the media file could not be found.
  • Playback speed bug fix: If a musical sequence was played at quarter, half, double, or quadruple speed, and the directory its media file was in contained a period in its name, sometimes the wrong media file would be played.
