gsaunders53 Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 How can I delete a existing sequence ?
Santas Helper Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 right mouse on the sequence file and hit delete.
Rickster Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 If you are referring to a sequence in your LOR folder/file then Santas Helper advice is what you should follow. If you are trying to delete a sequence while in the SE then that method will not work and you will need to go into the your LOR folder (or wherever you keep your sequence files) and do what Santas Helper suggested.
mpageler Posted September 28, 2016 Posted September 28, 2016 Deleting from folder struacture with a right click..delete. Also delete the other files that are associated with the sequences. One advanatage in keeping sequences in their own folder is that it's easy to do deletions and to copy to backup media. If you store everthing sequence in the same folder, it gets hard to do this, just because of the clutter.
gsaunders53 Posted September 30, 2016 Author Posted September 30, 2016 Thanks for helping this newbie was able to clean up a little there were files with different abbreviation like bak. Lms.. An lvs. So I deleted all .
Orville Posted October 2, 2016 Posted October 2, 2016 (edited) When deleting make sure you delete all the same filenames with the different extensions, as they all go together as one unit! Depending on how you have your software set up you should see files with these extensions from the Sequence Editor{SE}, .lms, .bak, .lcs, .lvs - these are all sequence files {EXCEPT .bak - see NOTE: below} created after saving a newly created sequence. These are all used by the SE software, so when you delete a sequence make sure all files with those 4 extensions are also deleted. NOTE: The .bak file may or may not exist, if you just created the sequence and never worked on it again, there will be no .bak file, that happens when you re-open it in the SE to work on it and save it with the new changes, then there will be a .bak file created along with other 3 file extensions previously listed, which usually also get updated.
