Public API or File Specifications?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

With the use of API or the knowledge of the file specifications, I can turn my show into something unique and take it from the decent level it is at right now and bring it up to the next level.

So, I was wondering if LOR had a public API, and if it is public, how I could get my hands on it? IF the API is not public, then are there file specifications? What would they be?

Lastly, suppose knowledge of a public API and the file specifications are unknown. What open source sequencing programs do you recommend I use? I'd sequence in the Open Source program, but will need a way to convert it into a LOR file, so it needs to possess the converter tool as well. Anyone and everyone who can lend a helping hand are welcome to share their input. Thanks!

LOR is proprietary software. You would need to talk to them about that.

X lights is a free alternative., don't think it is Open source. Check the DIY Christmas forums and here.....

Question is answered - files are written in XML format, no schema known. (http://prntscr.com/b6dlx0)

From what I have experienced and read a lot about lately Nutcracker is having difficulties converting to LOR's newest 4.xxx versions unless this has been recently fixed.

For what I need to do, using XML will be incredibly important. It will be much easier to do what I want with XML rather than a converter.
