xmaskarl
Are there any instructions in the forum that explain how to construct a giant spider? Edited March 18, 2016 by xmaskarl
Mr. P
You could always ask Brian, after all he is the SpiderWebMan and he may have some ideas.

Kapkirk
Jerry Thanks, if you don't mind I think I will use your spider for halloween yard decoration, think it will be cool out there for the 8-10 kids we usually see lol. Were you able to find your measurements? I could experiment or take a guess based on your picture if you don't find them. Thanks, Keith

jerry72
Ok, so here the link along with some instructions. This year i will be making one that stands a good 6 feet off the ground, total heights will probably be about 10 feet. for this little guy i used 1/2" pvc, he held up decent but you may wanna use 3/4" pvc especially if you live in a windy area. Build pics should be towards top of page. click on pic for details. https://www.facebook.com/SoundsofLights/?ref=hl Edited March 20, 2016 by jerry72

jerry72
I chose not to make a spider body, instead going with a Skeleton frame instead. Folks are using the piunk insulation foam and glue it together. then shape it. My next two projects for Halloween this year........
Old Sarge
I took a old hot glue gun apart and inside it added a little nozzel that I can connect to my air compressor.. Low Volume Air as i squeeze out glue makes nice spider web to.. Just takes some time to get the pressure right so you dont blow out a mess... I found the directions on a halloween site I just cant remember what the site name was. I made my giant spider out of a old KIDDIE plastic pool and PVC pipe. saxon
sarge, You have done what I have been thinking about doing. I have to ask, how was the clean up of those webs? Also, there are black light glue sticks that would look amazing! Jerry - love the boarded windows.
Old Sarge
it wasnt bad... I ran my air low enough it wasnt real super small and more bigger string then a fine web type. shot it over wax paper made some long strings and glued them together.. and plastic sheets let it dry and pulled it off then put it up in sections where I wanted it.. Trick is to not get in a hurry when making them and be far enough from the paper that is has some time to cool down some before getting on it so you can pull it off easy. I didnt take any pics or video of ny doing it.. If I do more this year I will try to get someone to take some pics or video.
saxon
Thanks sarge, I have heard of people simply spraying it on there bushes and house and such, then just gather it up and throw away....it was the "just gather it up" part that worried me.
