Orville
What do you mean by woke up to it, did a program say it's missing? I believe that should be a file that windows uses for COMM port control! The MS in front usually always means it's a file from MicroSoft. If it's missing your show may not run because that file could affect a lot of things on your system, if it's missing. You need to give us more details on what, how or why you were alerted to that "control" file, so we could be of better help to know why you may have gotten an alert on it and how to fix it. PhilMassey
It is apparently Windows common controls support for Visual basic. You don't give much info but taking a shot, this support article from Microsoft may help. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/896559
philnuffer
I get this problem anytime I do a general cleanup on my computer. To solve the problem, re-register the MSCOMCTLOCX FILE.Close all programs including LOR 1. Click the Start button2. Type "COMMAND" in the search box. DO NOT HIT "ENTER" YET3. While holding "CTRL-Shift" on your keyboard, hit "ENTER"4. If you are prompted with a permission box, hit YES5. Type the following command: regsvr32 /u mscomctl.ocx6. Hit "Enter" this will un-register your file7. Enter the following command: regsvr32 /i mscomctl.ocx8. Hit "ENTER" this will re-register your file9. Close the command prompt window10. Start the LOR program normally.Follow these instructions exactly as you are changing your computer registry. If that doesn't fix it you will have to download the file from the internet and run the above again.
