Army Lights
Hi, This will be my first year using the RGB Floods, so I am playing with them first in the Halloween setting before getting them ready for Christmas. Specifically, I am using a lightning sequence I found on the interwebs. It utilizes the TWINKLE function in various spots. Unfortunately, instead of spreading the twinkle function across the 8 floods as white (as we all know, twinkle is a randomization of sort using the channels it's active for at a given time), it twinkles across the 24 RGB channels, creating a disco effect. Any way to have the RGB floods act as white lights able to spread the twinkle effect across the 8 of them? Please let me know if I'm not explaining it well enough. Thanks! 1983ss454
I use this effect in my Halloween show to the sound effects of thunder during a song. I set the timing at .10 and then randomly filled in blocks with white.
ed26105
I do the same thing. It is also helpful to remember even if you fill in timing marks of 0.1 seconds, the paste to fit function allows you to take the 'random' settings as stretch them a little further if the effect isn't what you want. k6ccc
I just did something similar with some WS2811 strips where I wanted twinkle to be in groups. I did it manually with groups of 8 pixels to random colors and times. Took a while but came out really nice...
George Simmons
The only way to do that is manually. The software doesn't discriminate which channel(s) of the three is/are randomly firing. Once you get a few seconds done manually, even for only some of the channels, you can start copy/paste to achieve a fairly random effect. Using the paste from foreground option can be an effective tool as well. Then save that result in an animation sequence so you can quickly get to it when you want to use it again. Don
I haven't checked, but I would imagine the LOR Floods would have macro support.
sax
LOR 10 watt floods use the cmb 24 dc card. So no macro effects since it is the controller that has these.Since white is a combination of red, green and blue outputs...twinkle will be all colors randomly firing. Great effect for many things...but not lightning. Manual white shimmer would be a nice addition to random white on.
