Pixel tree leg spacing

I am building my 12 string ws2811 pixel tree. My pixels will be spaced at 3" apart but don't know how far apart my strips should be on the top and the bottom. I am using strips of 50 pixels at 3" so each leg will be 12.5 feet long. Can anybody give me any suggestions for the best spacing to use? I am also looking for a design for the star to go on top.

My tree is very similar to you.  My pixels are spaced 2.5 inches apart.  The bottom of the strings are about 8 inches apart and the tops are less than 2 inches.  check out my website at:

Thanks k6cc, that will help a lot. I am rethinking about my pixel spacing and thinking about maybe 2 1/2". I am going to try to use 1/2" steel conduit for my frame. .i will check out your website.
