dimming led's

Can all versions of the LOR controller dim led lights. A friend gave me all his led lights but some of them do not seem to dim. Either on or off. I have several versions of the controllers that I have bought over the years

It's possible you need a "snubber" or terminator at the end of your strings that do not fade.  I've heard people here use glad plug-ins and just attach them to the end of their string.  Search for "snubber" or "terminator" and you will likely find some threads here on how to make one if you don't go the plug-in route.

All LOR controllers can dim... not all LED light strings are dimmable.

WARNING: some folks have bought box store LED strings that would not dim. Trying to dim these LED strings can lead up to the string catching on fire. For example Martha Steward is known to be one of those who can catch on fire. Personally  I would get rid of the strings that wont dim.

That may have been true at one time. But I don't think she's anywhere near that hot today. Just saying ...

Post a photo of the lights or the manufacturers name and chances are someone has used them before.
