jrock_at_rons Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I'm building a 10' spiral tree and I'd like to add a channel of xenon strobes to it. What say you as to the minimum number of strobes for a tree this size? I'm up against my budget so I don't want to overspend. I was thinking 15-20. Thanks.
Steven Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 If you put them in the middle, you cat get away with less. I have about 6 in my 12' mega tree.Of course, more will give more pop.
Gary Blair Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I used 15 in the center of a a 16' tree and I think they looked fine. I would think 8 to 12 would do the trick for you.
gmacw Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I had a 10' spiral this year and put a string of 25 in the middle as others here suggested. It looked amazing! Got a lot of great compliments. As Steven said the more you have the more "POP" you will have but really even a 6 or so will have a decent effect!
zman Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 When I had my 10' tree, I had 10, 2 strings of 5.
dgrant Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 I put something between 20-25 in each of two spiral megatrees and it looked fine. What's the difference of effect when putting them in the middle of the tree as opposed to all over?
jstorms Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) How many strobes do you need? is sorta like asking... How much money do you have? You can get by with a few, and the look nice, but more is more. Brian Larson demonstrates, what unlimited strobes looks like.Link to strobey part: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZojOZuLxd8#t=64 Edited February 27, 2015 by jstorms
jeffl Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 (edited) I do 4 strings of 5 in a 12'. The reason for 4 strings is so that I can tie them to the PVC cross brace of the ring. I lose 2 each year of 100 and add 10. More is better if you can afford it. Edited February 27, 2015 by jeffl
