dgrant Posted December 8, 2014 Share Posted December 8, 2014 Phil is absolutely correct...the USB/RS485 adapter is NOT TCPIP therefore does not go into any "switch or router". You may very well burn up something. The USB/RS485 adapter, plug the obvious side into a USB port. The other end, female RJ45 is to use a Cat5/6 wire BUT only to an LOR controller!!! Then, use the hardware utility to locate the adapter and the controllers connected to it. As stated, hope you didn't cook the computer or switch.
