cjcruz
Does it matter which end is the input on the 12v RGB dumb nodes. I notice one side of the nodes have ICs.

Max-Paul
Strange, You call them dumb nodes or RGBs. Yet you also state that there are ICs on one side of the node? I dont think dumb nodes have ICs. Ifn truely dumb nodes, you might be seeing some very small surface mounted resistors? Or you truely have what we call smart RGBs. If that is the case then you will need a RGB controller and it will matter which end is connected first, cause those ICs have an input and output pins that are wired in daisy chain or some say serial. saxon
the picture you included looks like smart nodes. those will need to be wire correctly.
wmilkie
I don't know about dumb ones, but if it has a little black IC on it, look for an arrow; pointing in toward the ic; this is the input;I misswired several before I figured this out with some help
cjcruz
They must be resistors and not ICs. I tested all 28 strands last night and they all look great. Now just need to solder my pigtails and put together a few CMB24D controllers. Thanks for the input.
