SPaschall
I need help my mind is not working. There is a way with the keyboards to highlight the grid in the sequence editor and I can't remember how to do it. I know you can click and drag, but I can't get it to drag over far enough in the timeline. SPaschall

SPaschall
That is pulling up a new track options,There is a way to start the media and it highlights the grid like if you did a click and drag on the timeline. Then another key will stop it and the section of the timeline stays highlighted so you can tap a section of the song. SPaschall
ItsMeBobO
You missed a Z. Alt-E A is for adding a track. Your terminology is confusing. SE does not highlight the grid. You select various cells and see a band around it. Color changes come from applying an effect. You can highlight the timeline (yellow area) with your mouse. This remains until you change it again with your mouse. Then you can start and stop playing of the highlighted time with the space bar. The highlighted time section is the default when you go to the tapper tool but you can also enter the time. http://www1.lightorama.com/tutorials/
