Box on Rails
I have been creating sequences now for about 5 years and started doing singing faces about 2 years ago. My issue was with songs that fade out at the end with singing. I couldn't figure out how to have the animation of the faces fade out with the rest of the show in the same fade intensity. There is a lot going on with the mouth channels to fade it out manually. So years ago I looked in the tool drop down menu to see what tool will do what I need and nothing. So I went to the forums and I put in my request for an added tool to future upgrades to sequence editor and no one responded to the thread. So yesterday I'm sequencing a song that once again has a fading ending with lots of singing and I stumbled across a tool. It was not in the drop down tool menu. What happened was I highlighted the faces part of the last 8 seconds of the sequence and then right mouse clicked in the highlighted area and the editing menu came up as normal. This time I looked closely at all the tools and saw 2 tools tilted Background Effects and Foreground Effects. So I put the mouse over the Foreground effect and another menu came up with some more tools 2 called fade up and fade down. So I clicked on the fade down tool and something amazing happened. all the faces had the perfect fade out. now I know there is probably quite a few of you pros out there that already knew of this tool this but when no one responded to my request for this type of fading tool I just assumed it did not exist. This is a revelation for me and I just wanted to share this little hidden jewel. RegardsKenny
Don
Obviously I missed the post you are talking about. You've found the foreground and background tools! They are a great addition to the software. Be sure to check all of them out, including the fading twinkle and shimmer. (Sure beats the way I created a fading shimmer in 2007.)
