I want to convert a Holiday Light Designs Pixel Tree to a horizontal matrix.

    P12R Controller
    30 physical 2811 pixel strings

I would like:

45 pixels across (each string is 45 pixels)
   30 pixels/strings down
   10 universes (135 pixels per)

Now - any hints on lining them up vertically without a backer board?  I don't want to hide the house behind it.   Also, how do you program on the horizontal, as last year I programed them on the vertical, which seems the natural way to do it..

Use poly banding strap, and tension it nice and tight. Should allow for gaps through the matrix.  May need some vertical rods every few feet to keep it from rolling over.

I use that green, plastic fence (http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-40-in-x-25-ft-Green-Multi-Purpose-Fence-889250HD14/204331924) from Home Depot.  Stick the pixels through the openings and zip tie them in place.  Just roll the fence up with the pixels still installed at the end of the season.

I use Nutcracker to sequence the pixels; one of the models in the program is for a Horizontal grid.

Great idea, thanks.
