Announcing SpEx 2 beta release Spectrum effect generator

SpEx has been on vacation for a few months getting some major upgrades.    This is a Beta release as I am still finding usability issues.

 

Upgrades

Spectrum extract now includes left right stereo.  

Detects mono audio and adjusts for it.

Better precision on timing   20 FPS

Linear frequency changed to logarithmic matching piano keys.

Multiple new ways to group frequencies

Clearer selection of layout style

Advanced color selections vertical or horizontal

Option peak display and color selector.

The Horizontal bar generation options are now available.   There are 24 arrangements to select from. 

Several fixes were made to capture clicks which interrupt effect generation.   Now if you change settings while the effect is building, the current process is aborted. 

 

If you want to try SpEx    please download  Vegomatic and create a matrix profile.   Then you can generate an effect for that matrix profile.

The first non-beta release will be in a week or so as version 2.1.0

 

There are many new things in this beta.

 

Non-RBG lights strings can now have the EQ effect.   Create a one row by 16 or 32 matrix in vegomatic and you will get intensities instead of bars. No color options.

The vertical bar wave patterns are all active.   16 vertical styles no horizontal on the wave.   The extra generate wave tab was removed.

All the horizontal EQ bars are active so there are 32 styles there.

Some color patterns on split styles had some bugs which were fixed.
