Smart Ribbons

Sorry for asking , but I have been looking for a while now to find the information and haven't found it yet. Basically I have 2 CTB16PC controllers and want to add on some smart RGB Riboons. I was wondering a good way to get into it with purchasing from Ray Wu for the Ribons and wanted to know what controllers/power supplies/adaptors/controllers I would need to get started cheaply. I am only interested in running 8 ribbons for now to do my first mega tree. Any advise on where to go from here is a appreciated. 

 

Again I am sorry for asking I have been able to find everything else I have needed over the two years I have been running LOR. I jsut can't find the right post on this one. Thanks for any help. Kalefortsch@comcast.com

Got a great suggestion. Scroll down to the software section and click on the E1.31 and Lor section. And just sit back and start reading. Bet you will find everything you want to know in that section of this forum.

To do it cheaply I'll make you a list:

 

- RGB pixel strip: ($20.00 a strip) http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/5m-led-digital-strip-DC12V-input-WS2811IC-256-scale-10pcs-IC-and-30pcs-5050-SMD-RGB/701799_568458133.html however if you have LOTS of snow get a ip68 strip but these should be fine and order 9 because you will have a backup strip if anything goes wrong with one of your strips on the tree. total for 9 = $180.00 (NOT COUNTING SHIPPING)

 

- power supply: ($20.00 a power supply) http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/350W-Dual-Output-Switching-Power-Supply-88-264VAC-input-12V-350W-output-CE-and-ROHS-approved/701799_289599951.html you will need 2X so $40.00 (NOT COUNTING SHIPPING)

 

- Controller (ECG P12R j1sys $175.00) this is a 12 input E131 controller you will need 1X http://www.j1sys.com/ecg-p12r/

power supply: ($20.00 a power supply) 2X = $40.00

 

Controller (ECG P12R j1sys $175.00) 1X = $175.00

 

180 + 40 + 175 = 395

 

it will cost about $395 without any shipping costs.
