steve synek Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Just curious. The sale picture shows a V1 card fully assembled for $119.95. Is this the correct card?Should this be a V3 card? Steve
Jim Hans Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 I'm sure that all they sell now are the gen. 3. Just an old catalog picture.
steve synek Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 I'm sure that all they sell now are the gen. 3. Just an old catalog picture.I was hoping to get an official reply from LOR. Looking around the store, I could not find any specific information posted. It looks like V1 in kit form, so they are not extinct yet. If I were a new member here, I would find it pretty important as V1 isn't made for the high speed network advantages going forward with RGB stuff. Steve
orchidman Posted April 1, 2014 Posted April 1, 2014 Your question got me to thinking, so I called LOR and asked Mary about it. Only the kits are V2 because the V3 cards have surface mount chips. There is no way a normal or experienced user could solder a surface mount pc board. So the kits have to stay V2 and any cards that come assembled from them are V3.
