-klb-
I don't count xenon strobes against my incandescent to LED conversion stats. Xenon is not an incandescent filament, and arc discharge lamps like mercury vapor and high pressure sodium are intrinsically more efficient than fluorescent bulbs. I'm counting xenon strobes as right up there as well.
drums114
ok I am going to go with Xenon just debating whether I should by the $3.25 I bulb strobes or the $6.25 U bulb strobes....that's a big difference if I order 50 of them...ugh....CLS doesn't go any lower than $6.25???? zooo
Did you put weep holes in them to let condensation escape (and on the proper end depending upon which end is facing down)? Also, here is a great presentation given on the ins and outs of strobes, plus some tips for strobe repair if needed (including for CLS strobes).http://www.woodinvillewonderland.com/images/ChristmasExpo/ChristmasExpo2011Curatin%20Strobes.pdf(http://www.woodinvillewonderland.com/howto.htm)Yes, I put two weep holes in the lower end of the strobes with a solder iron. Just had another one go out. Frustrating at $7 each.
zooo
I agree, the CLS ones do seem brighter. However my Christmas Light Emporium ones are much brighter than ALL of my dead CLS strobes I will stick with slightly less flash for the strobes that more more likely to make it through a December. plasmadrive
I have about 60 or so out of the CLS strobes. Over the last three years I have canned about 5 of them. I have not put weep holes either. I am happy enough with them as is.
