Mounting lights on a garage door

I've got a garage door that I'd like to attach lights to. I'm trying to figure out the best way to run power to the lights since the door goes up and down daily. What's the trick?

I bent some conduit into an "L" shape and attached it to the wooden frame around the garage door, leaving the long end resting on the ground.

 

After making several of these, I could mount all kinds of lights and props on them and not affect the door at all. It's a roll up door.

If you attached it to the non-moving frame wouldn't those lights be stuck in place.  If so it seems you'd have to remove the frame before pulling your car out of the garage.

During the holidays, I park my car outside, knowing the garage is blocked by the lights. Shoulda clarified that.
