GE color effects

So I just picked up 3 sets of ge color effects. One set has a push button controller on it and the other two don't have the push button. My question is how can I use and control the three sets and possibly more if I get them. I read up and am confused on how to do so.

Here's some stuff to search: http://www.dogpile.com/search/web?fcoid=485&fcop=&fpid=27&qall=ge+color+effects&qexact=&qany=&qnone=&qimgc=All&qimgs=All&qlang=&qdomainf=Include&qdomain=forums.lightorama.com

Here's a simple controller: http://www.diybllc.com/LED-Pixel-String-Controller-5-volt-DIYB-LCPC-01.htm

You would need a DMX "dongle" or adapter: http://www.holidaycoro.com/Enttec-Pro-Compatible-DMX-Dongle-p/53.htm

And the Advanced version of the LOR software.

You'd also need a 5vdc power supply. Here's some on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_from=R40&_udlo=12&_udhi=44&LH_ItemCondition=3&LH_BIN=1&LH_FS=1&_nkw=5v+dc+power+supply&LH_PrefLoc=1&_sop=15

If you're not very technical, you might want to start with something easier, like a preassembled starter package.

Most everyone is busy getting their displays working, since they're being installed now and will probably light up in the next two weeks.

Put your location in your profile and maybe someone near you can help.

ha, i'm in orange, ct and i just finished doing this a few weeks ago...

http://sandevices.com/E6804Info.html That will let you control four separate strings of lights. Mines controlling 4 sets of 36 count icicle GE color effects. (GECE)

http://sandevices.com/documents/GE_Pixel_Wiring.pdf shows you how to wire to device.

for a power supply I used the existing wall wart /power supply...

it was a lot of trial and error, mainly error. i miswire mine a few times because i was wiring late at night and in the dark... not smart on my part, but both the board and pixels survived.

but you will def. need software to control the board. i use nutcracker to create pretty sequences and then copy and paste in LOR advanced version...

http://www.nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/ its free and does some amazing things,

that should get you going... but without the controller or any controller dont go cutting the wires otherwise you will have nothing...

i'll check back if you have more questions...
