Sequences not controlling lights

Hello all, newbie here and I have my first 16 channel controller. I have downloaded a sequence and music, but when music begins I get no interaction with the lights! Help a dummie out please..and thank you!!

Couple of questions.

 

1) Software registered? Demo version won't control the lights.

2) Playing from the Sequence Editor or have you created a show, and scheduled it? If playing from the SE, do you have a blue dot at the lower left of your screen? Is "Control Lights" checked under "Play" in the SE?

3) Does the channel layout match your controller layout? Since controllers default to 01, make sure the sequence is using UnitID 01.

Can you control your lights with the hardware utility? by control, I mean can you run some of the test, not sequence at this time?

After all that make sure the control lights button is checked.
