Best training for using boards?

Recommended Posts

I'm about to buy my first board but I'm a little confused by the wiring.

Is there a book or a website that explains doing this in good detail?

I'm not placing the unit outside, so I didn't want the unit with an enclosure.... but I will miss the power plugs it offers.

Thanks

You can get all of the documentation on every LOR product from the documentation page.

That should give you quite a bit of information you need about the board. If you have questions, please feel free to ask.

Fantastic, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  :)

There is a lot of exposed electrical connections with 120VAC on the surface of the board. And if someone would bump into the board and get an electrical shock that could be fatal. I would still put the board(s) inside of some kind of enclosure(s)

Hmmmm, good advise.

I've seen pictures were people had mounted a bunch of them onto a sheet of wood and then mounted that on the wall.

I was thinking of doing something like that and then having a cover. The only thing I wasn't sure about with that is heat. I see they sell the boards with and without a heat sink.

Since it'd be in an air conditioned room, the cover would seem to be an issue (block the airflow).

So much to think about.

Before you completely dismiss putting the boards outside, consider the big advantage of needing to run a single power cable and a single network cable, instead of 16. As you add to your display, this advantage increases.

Which board do you have?
