3.10.6 'view channel button colours'

Its would appear that since I have upgraded to the new 3.10.6 version on a new 64bit computer, I am unable to view colours in the channel bar. If I click or hover the mouse I can see what colour that the channel is assigned to. Tried changing the toggle button key to show colours. (the one up the top next to the view channel buttons)

Does any one else have this problem?
