caniac
I want to build a hoop that is 8ft across (diameter) or 4ft out from the center point, how many feet of flexible irrigation hose do I need? Having a brain fart kind of day.
dslowik
Pi * diameter
WilliamS
Diameter times Pie! 8 foot times the generic 3.14 equates to a little more than 25 feet.
George Simmons
Diameter times Pie! Does it make a difference whether you use an apple pie, a pumpkin pie, or perhaps even a strawberry-rhubarb pie?
Santas Helper
I assume humble pie would work just as well.
75redman
MMMMM. PIE. Making me hungry!!
TGabriel
The pie has to be eaten first, before using the pan for the hoop.
caniac
Thanks, thought that was it but just wasn't sure. It's been one of those weeks. Trying to put three projects in production at work.
WilliamS
was a joke, of course everyone likes to take things serious. Either way works. Gabriel's idea is best though! Although how many of us would it take to eat a pie of that size to leave a tin? If we use typical pie pan being 4:1 ratio 8 inch pie is typically 2 inches deep. Now we have a pie of 8 foot diameter so 2 feet think. MMMM crust on that monster. More fun lets figure out the volume, mmm more pie * height * radius squared equals 100.48 square feet of pie. * 12 to get square inches 1205.76 spin of this fun pie. Last most people eat a sliver of pie roughly 4 square inches of pie. so it would take 302 of us to eat that pie to get you that ring. Hows that for pie! Mmmm I hope its cherry. Sorry bored at work. iresq
The mirror image of 3.14 is PIE. Coincidence?

Ken Benedict
Actually, the answer is one half of (pi*diameter), because if you're only doing a hoop, it's half of a circle. The top half, not the bottom half.

rainyoregonchristmas
All I know is the more PIE, the larger my diameter.
Ken Benedict
You folks need to get out more. Take yourselves out to a nice dinner, with PIE as dessert, but only eat half of it because its a hoop, not a loop. That's 1.57, half of a Pie. Tell yourself what a great show your gonna have this year. If you live in Portland, see how they take Pi(e) to the extreme. Then read the other Pie jokes out there.
