I have also seen these on ebay and they look the same. Does anyone know if the controllers on ebay are the same? jlowe Posted January 11, 2013 Share Posted January 11, 2013 If using it for dumb strings, you want common anode because most strings we use are setup for this. The colors are set by sinking the current for each channel. You also need to consider amps provided by the controller and also you will have to have an ability to program it so that it knows its address. Some came back with great results, some wound up with a pile of part. They are cheap to buy the correct ones. Dont chance the headaches of the unknowns. Supposedly the other ones are weather proof.
