dknahoolewa Posted December 21, 2012 Share Posted December 21, 2012 After 3 hours. I got the tree fixed.. I only lost 2 stands of lights. One is easily fixed.. the other is on my 3d star. That will half to wait til teardown.went out last night and spend time fixing tangled strings and moving one anchor. the anchor came up about 1/2" so i think i got lucky, thank goodness i bought the 16" dog chain anchors and not the 8".Merry Christmas to All.Four more days.And a big thanks to all, this has and will be for a long time a great place to gather and hobbiest and friends. De Trommelslager Posted December 21, 2012 Share Posted December 21, 2012 I did some checking late yesterday after all of the wind and found that my guy wires were still as tight (not guitar string tight) as they were when the tree went up. That really surprised me, I expected them to need some adjustment.My mega tree's anchors are pictured below. They are 18" long from the eyelet to the auger and I bought them at a feed store for around $ 5.00 each.Just thought I would share; they are working well for me (so far).
