I have been known to let my 7 year old use a drill to drive screws, etc... I do not think that he could do the soldering (I do wish I had 7 year old eyes when I solder). As far as babies and soldering irons cute but when then get a bit older I am sure we would make sure they never see a soldering iron as play thing!
