Dimming and ramping in ss

I cant seem to ramp the lights up or down on the ccrs in ss. What am I doing wrong? I have seen many ccr tree videos that have that effect.

To ramp up, set the Start color to black and the end color to the color you want. To ramp down, set the start color to the color you want, and the End color to black. Also, there are some training videos, go to the lightorama main page, click on the "Support" tab at the top and select "video tutorials". On the video tutorial page the SuperStar tutorials are at the bottom.
