heystew
What is the best/right way to embed a video in a post. In the help it shows an icon for embedding media (video/song) in a post, however that button is not actually available in the toolbar for posting.I know i've seen it done since the new forums came online, but I'm not finding the right way to do it.thanks,DaveOk, so I thought i just found it in the Special BBCode button (next the Font dropdown box), where you can choose to insert html code. (it inserts html tags around the code you paste). However I ran into two problems: a) it didn't insert the code that I pasted in the dialog box, and b, when i did it manually (as below) it shows up as a code snippet, not embedded html.<iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/46720798" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe>

spomalley
There is a forum setting where it auto-embeds URLs that it detects link to a video. Edited August 2, 2012 by spomalley

spomalley
Make sure your link has http:// before it and not www. If that dosen't work try www. Instead of http://

heystew
take out all of the embed code.. just make it http://www.url.com/videoname.avietc..when you hit Preview Post, you should see it..
heystew
I extracted the URL to the video and just pasted below..and it doesn't seem to work. So i pasted the URL in the browser address bar and it says the video was deleted... when you post another video on photobucket, just try the url that goes straight to the video.http://vid55.photobucket.com/Falbums/Fg153/Fwallleyes/FVID00005.mp4
wallleyes
http://s55.photobuck...nt=VID00005.mp4The video has not been deleted.
heystew
ahh, had the wrong link. sorry..i guess the forum software doesn't work well with photobucket??? or maybe mp4.i've used it now with vimeo, and youtube. I just browse to the video webpage and copy the url..I was able to get a clickable thumbnail of your video by choosing Share and then copying the Clickable Thumbnail link under IMG for bulletin boards & forumsa little better than a link.. but not quite the same.
