lkcubsrule Posted July 28, 2012 Share Posted July 28, 2012 From what I hear, Windows 8 doesn't appear to be a ground-up revision like Vista and Windows 7 were. Apparently you can upgrade from 7 to 8 and keep your user accounts, files and programs...so it seems that the architecture won't change that extensively. TJ Hvasta Posted August 7, 2012 Share Posted August 7, 2012 I had issues with crashing/lockups whilst using the Visualizer, but that was with the first W8 Beta versions. The Preview Candidate is a bit more stable.. The Release Candidate should be even more stable with no freezes/lockups.. I nenver got blue screens, just would lock up. LOR Staff Posted August 8, 2012 Share Posted August 8, 2012 I suspect that is very true. Graphics code is one of those things that has to work, yet is usually pushed off to the very end. A lot of that is due to changes in the core that interface between the video driver, and Windows itself.GDI/GDI+ (the core technology used in the Vis) is pretty mature, so I expect it all to work at release time.
